Recently, the world's first pure electric mining dump truck, Xiangdian XEG220E, jointly developed by China Coal Pingshuo Group and Xiangdian Group, has been delivered for use at the Anjialing open-pit mine of China Coal Pingshuo Group. This shift from fuel-powered to pure electric mining dump trucks gives a strong impetus to the development of green, safe, energy-efficient and intelligent mining operations.

This pure electric mining dump truck currently has the largest payload capacity in the industry, equivalent to that of 100 passenger cars. With wheels as high as 3.6 meters, about two stories, the driver has to climb 15 steps from the ground to reach the cabin. The lifting cylinder is thicker than an adult's waist. When raised, the truck bed can reach a height of 13.6 meters and can hold four passenger cars side by side in its cargo area. It is mainly used for transporting raw coal and overburden in mines. With an average charging time of one hour, it can operate continuously for six hours per charge. Annually, it is expected to replace about 600 tons of fuel consumption and achieve true "zero emissions". In contrast, traditional 200-ton fuel-powered trucks consume about 4,000 liters of fuel a day during full operation. This pure electric model consumes about 12 megawatt-hours (12,000 kWh) per day and realizes comprehensive cost savings of up to 40%. Once fully operational each year, it will reduce carbon dioxide emissions in mining areas by about 1,800 tons, making a significant contribution to achieving the dual carbon goals in the open-pit coal industry.

The entire vehicle uses lithium iron phosphate batteries known for their safety performance and cost-effectiveness, along with advanced battery management systems. It is equipped with independently developed hub motors and electrical drive control systems, as well as a complete set of smart equipment including wireless remote monitoring, blind spot imaging, collision warning systems, tire pressure monitoring and weighing measurement tools, seamlessly integrating electrification and intelligence. The main components include power systems, electronic drive systems, driving mechanisms, hydraulic systems, cabins and structural parts, as well as automatic lubrication systems, all of which are domestically produced.
