The vertical ring rolling machine, also known as a ring rolling mill, has a long history and is widely utilized for producing bearings' inner and outer rings, gear blanks, flanges, railway wheels, and other products.
The machine consists of a main rolling wheel and a core roller (mandrel) that rotates to form a pair of rollers, which roll the ring blank set on the core roller. During the ring rolling process, the outer diameter and inner diameter expand, and the ring wall thickness decreases gradually, forming the final ring. A thrust roller located on the right side ensures a smooth rolling process, while the signal roller on the left side determines the diameter size.
This equipment is suitable for producing relatively simple shapes with a relatively large hole expansion ratio in seamless rolled ring production. The ring rolling machines offer several advantages such as high productivity, improved blank precision, reduced metal cutting amount, increased material utilization, improved cutting performance, and enhanced internal quality of forged rings.
