Level 6 bulletproof vests are required to withstand attacks from 7.62mm sniper rifles. The penetration capability of sniper rifle bullets is nearly 70% higher than that of regular rifles.
A typical rifle has a muzzle energy of about 1900 joules, while a sniper rifle has a muzzle energy of approximately 3000 joules.
Future Developments
Liquid Bulletproof Vests: Also known as "bulletproof custard," these vests are made from special thickening liquid materials. When struck by a bullet, this special liquid material rapidly thickens and hardens.
